 As Peter walked out on the water, he learned that it is not only the first step that takes great faith but it also takes continued concentration and focus.
We can't walk on water, but we can rappel down the side of a rock face, walk across cable bridges 35 feet up in the trees or gather at the river for kayaking. We can give your group the opportunities to practice their faith in extreme ways, and build Trust in themselves and in God. Sometimes the best way to learn is to jump in with both feet. Wesley Woods offers half- and full-day programs. We also have prepackaged weekend retreats -- we provide the program, you provide the campers!
Adventure Education is designed to take children out of their comfort zone...to put them in a place where they can stretch their limits and broaden their horizons while remaining as safe as possible. We want our campers to come with fear, either large or small, and watch that fear change into trust in equipment, change into trust in their own ability, and change into confidence. In the end we hope our program will help the children grow in faith, and become more comfortable in their own ministry to the world.
LEADERSHIP: Styles, roles and how to be effective leaders are all addressed as the group works through the day. TEAMWORK: It's more than a nice word. It's a way to work toward accomplishing more than you ever thought you could. GOAL SETTING: Facing your fears and saying "I'm going to try it anyway." RISK-TAKING: Learning about support, safety and trust, which make risk-taking safe. TRUST: Building a sense of trust within the group. SELF-ESTEEM: Say to yourself at the end of the day, "I can," "I did it!" "If I can do the 200ft. zip line, I can do anything!" Looking for something to do on the Weekends?
